Microsoft PowerPoint to PDF

You can save your PowerPoint slide deck as a PDF file to provide to your audience. Learn how to save it as a PDF while keeping accessibility in mind.

Convert to PDF from PowerPoint

When you are ready to convert your PowerPoint presentation to a PDF file, follow these steps in PowerPoint for Desktop to make sure the slide deck will maintain its document structure and accessibility.

Using Windows

  1. Select File menu from menu tabs at the top.
  2. Select "Save As" or "Save a Copy" from the side menu (depending on which is displayed in the option list) and select PDF.

  3. Choose your preferred file location.
  4. Select "Save" button.

Using Mac

  1. Select "File" from PowerPoint menu bar.
  2. Choose "Export" instead of "Save As" or "Save a copy".
  3. Select "PDF" from file format drop-down list (if not already selected). Make sure the "Best for electronic distribution and accessibility" option is chosen for your digital copy.

    • For older versions, check "Options" and ensure the "Document structure tags for accessibility" option is selected.
  4. Choose where you want your PDF file saved.
  5. Select "Export" button.
