Henrie Monteith Treadwell, a public health champion whose enrollment more than 60 years ago marked the University of South Carolina’s desegregation, died Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Each year, USC celebrates exemplary alumni and friends with awards bestowed by the Alumni Association. Honorees include Walter Edgar, winner of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, and E. Approximately 1,680 transfer students started classes this fall on the Columbia campus, an increase of 28 percent since the fall 2022 cohort.
