GRIDLOCK: A Grid Resilience Hackathon

This first-of-its-kind event will span three days (Feb. 28 – March 2) and attempt to deliver business solutions to energy sector businesses. Students from all over campus are welcome to attend.

Schedule

5 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (dinner served)

Friday evening, after an overview of the energy sector with an engaging keynote address, students will hear from South Carolina-based companies with challenges they need solved. Students will then organize into teams and begin the process of researching and solving the companies’ problems.

10 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. (lunch and dinner served)

On Saturday, teams convene at 10 a.m. for workshops and activities following the entrepreneurial process to ideate, design, validate, and iterate on their solutions. Saturday’s creative experience ends just after dinner.

10 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (prizes awarded)

On Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m., the teams will present their completed projects to the companies. Prizes available for a variety of achievements.

  • If you think you have what it takes to collaborate on a solution for critical infrastructure companies
  • If you just want to learn more about the energy segment
  • If you want to practice with the entrepreneurial process and the design thinking approach to problem solving
