“Taking computing courses helped me realize how much I enjoy problem-solving. The work required to complete a program is challenging but very rewarding.”

“I exclusively used Handshake to search for internships. A lot of time is needed to search through listings, but it is exciting when moving forward in the application process.”

Nick Tice earned his bachelor's degree in Statistics at the University of South Carolina in 2020 and continued into the master’s program in Statistics at UofSC.

“Stats classes were more applied and aligned with my interests in sports analytics. Books like Moneyball and The Big Short made me interested in using data to gain an advantage.”

“The statistics program helped me develop skills in R, SAS, Tableau, and strengthened my critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are valuable in any future job.”

“I interned with the Samford Center for Sports Analytics, where I researched data and created visualizations for articles using RStudio.”

Rebecca Koch earned her bachelor's degree in Statistics at the University of South Carolina in 2020. She later completed a master’s in Business Analytics at the University of Tennessee and works as a Data Scientist at HanesBrands.
