Research and Teaching Interests
Dr. Baker's research explores how exercise and stress affect the immune system in relation to cancer, aging, and human performance. His work merges exercise physiology and stress biology to understand how physical activity can strengthen immune responses against cancer and viral infections. He is also focused on developing evidence-based approaches to maintain and enhance immune function in extreme environments, including athletic competition and spaceflight.
