College of Social Work

Children, Youth and Families

Families set the foundation for relationships in life. Our researchers study challenges faced by children, youth and families and the organizations that serve them.

Our broad-based faculty experts explore issues around children, youth and families by looking at the big picture — and big data — examining systems-level organizational policies and evaluating interventions at the client level.

Research includes autism spectrum disorder and its impact upon families, school social work and school mental health services, child welfare and kinship care and adolescent trauma and homelessness.

Through collaboration and innovation, our faculty are advancing solutions that address complex challenges facing today’s families and communities.
