Thomas Cooper Library

South Caroliniana Library
The nation’s oldest freestanding college library, home to South Carolina’s documented history and literature, is located on the Horseshoe. Researchers from around the world explore the library’s published materials, manuscripts, university archives and visual materials.

Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library
Explore the university’s Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, South Carolina Political Collections, and Digital Collections at Hollings Library. The state-of-the-art facility features collections exhibits, a reading room, seminar rooms, and a large program space.

University of South Carolina Law Library
South Carolina’s campus has one of the largest law libraries in the Southeast. The university community, the bench and bar, and public are welcome to search more than 500,000 volumes for answers to almost any question of law, regardless of complexity.

Music Library
The USC School of Music has a vast collection of books, scores, print and electronic journals, audio and video recordings and more than 30 special collections. Students, faculty and staff can check out circulating audio and video recordings or view and listen in the library.

School of Medicine Library
Access online services and resources including more than 28,000 biomedical electronic journals, 400 electronic textbooks and 80 biomedical databases. The library holds a 116,000 volume print collection plus the Center for Disability Resources library collection.
