Media Relations
University of South Carolina alumni, faculty, staff and students are shaping the state’s future and changing the world. From pioneering research from world-renowned faculty to ambitious facilities initiatives to initiatives bolstering USC’s $7.4 billion impact on the state, we’re proud to help media share those stories.
What we do
University Communications serves as the media relations arm of the university, helping news outlets share the stories of USC students, faculty and staff doing the work to make the university, the state and the nation grow.
Some of what we do includes:
- Setting up interviews with university administrators, faculty experts and more.
- Sharing university updates, honors and other news via press releases.
- Providing media with statements or information about university projects.
Other University Communications resources include media training for administrative and academic units as well as some internal communications to students, faculty and staff.
Media advisories
Sent ahead of major media events at USC, advisories are a good guide to important events highlighting university impact, supporting cutting-edge research and important university milestones.
If you’d like to be added to our advisory or press release lists, contact Greg Hardy (ghardy@sc.edu) to subscribe.
