All Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support employees are invited to stop by Greene St to grab a to-go drink from SIPSetc. They will serve all of their speciality coffee drinks hot and cold, flavored lemonades and teas, while supplies last.

All Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support employees are invited to beat the heat with a popsicle at the annual Popsicles and Networking event. Join your colleagues for an end of summer snack, chat about what you did this summer, and what you're most looking forward to during the upcoming academic year.

August

All new graduate assistants and interns working for the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support, regardless of program of study, are invited to orientation. The orientation helps new graduate assistants and interns create connections across the division, network with the senior leadership team, and learn about resources availableto them. Breakfast will be provided.

When: Tuesday, August 12th from 9:00am - 12:00pm (check in and breakfast begins at 8:30am).

All Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support employees are encouraged to attend the semesterly All Staff Division Meeting. This is an opportunity to hear from division leadership and its constituents on important updates.

When you sign up for the Division Duos program, you can choose to serve as a mentor, mentee or both. You can also share your interests, experiences and goals to help organizers choose your mentoring match.

Mentee applications for the Division Duos program during the Fall 2025 semester are due by Friday, September 5th

This session is designed to introduce participants to the finance intranet and provide basic navigation within the system.  Please note that finance intranet access is required for participation.  For those who do not currently have access, please submit a ticket via the Finance Ticketing System and select the “Ask a Finance Team Member” category to request access.  We encourage participants to bring a laptop as this session will be interactive.

The University of South Carolina strives to incorporate sustainability into the daily lives of students, faculty and staff to support the university's growth towards a more sustainable future. This session is an introduction to environmentally friendly workplaces, aiming to educate faculty and staff members on how to incorporate sustainability into their everyday lives.

Attendees will learn the background of the Green Office Certification process and what steps their office will need to take to incorporate the program into their workplace and successfully achieve the certification threshold. Successful completion of the program will require additional time following the training to educate their office of the sustainable changes being made.

When: Tuesday, September 9th from 3:00 - 4:00pm

This is a 120-minute comprehensive training engages staff as mental health allies and helps them learn the basic components of suicide prevention, enhance knowledge of campus mental health resources, as well as rapid assessment and referral of students in distress. Participants will learn how to intervene at the mild, moderate, and severe levels of distress and how to refer students to appropriate resources as needed.

Coffee and Collaboration is an event that aims to promote networking with colleagues and exposure to different offices and departments across the division. The first department to host this semester's Coffee and Collaboration is the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life. All division staff are invited to attend. Coffee will be provided and attendees are encouraged to bring their own mugs, though cups will still be provided for your convenience.

This session is designed to provide a general overview of the process for procuring goods and services on campus. The session is both an introduction to procurement for new employees as well as a refresher for current employees.  It will focus on enhancing participants’ knowledge of divisional purchasing policies and practices, finding answers to commonly asked questions, demonstrating the ticket request system (including how to submit a procurement ticket), and connecting attendees with their procurement team member.

As college educators, we are challenged to provide support for students and improve their entire undergraduate experience. At the National Conference on Students in Transition, attendees will share with and learn from one another the latest trends, initiatives, best practices, ideas, research, and assessment strategies focused on supporting student success in the first college year and beyond. We invite you to be a part of this exciting learning experience!

This virtual conference is hosted by the University of South Carolina's National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition.
