Summer Research at South Carolina

Are you dreaming of a Summer of Discovery? There are a range of summer research programs and supports available for undergraduate students. You can go to a conference, share your work on campus, or attend a seminar related to your research environment and career.  Maybe you want to find a research project related to your interest or discipline here, or anywhere in the nation. Continuing in research over the summer is a valuable way to further build into your skillset, develop professionally, and increase competitiveness for your future career.

Summer Research Symposium

If you are researching on campus during the summer, be sure to present your findings at the Summer Research Symposium.   The Symposium is generally held toward the end of July in the Hollings Room of the Thomas Cooper Library.

Research and Professional Development Workshops

Summer is a great time to learn essential skills not always available during the school year.  Take advantage of workshops hosted by the OUR on campus in June and July geared toward student researchers, and take a look at virtual and in-person workshops offered by professionals in the field.

Summer Research Opportunities

While we all love making Carolina our home, there are external regional and national opportunities for travel that are sure to expose you to different perspectives and provide networking opportunities with colleagues with diverse training.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
