Renee Chosed, Ph.D.

 Dr. Chosed earned her B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Trinity University and her Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She continued her training as an Odyssey Post-doctoral fellow at U.T. MD Anderson Cancer Center. Currently, Dr. Chosed’s research program at SOMG focuses on the molecular mechanisms that regulate development in preimplantation stage embryos. This research aims to enhance the uterine implantation success rate of euploid embryos of infertile couples undergoing IVF. Dr. Chosed taught for 9 years at SOMG and has served in various roles including (but are not limited to):

  • Serving as Vice-Chair of BMS (2022-present) and a Clinical Professor of Biomedical Sciences at USC SOMG;
  • Serving as the SOMG Director of Medical Student Research from 2020-2023.
  • Serving as the Chair of the SOMG Curriculum Committee (2020-2022).
  • Mentoring numerous medical students in translational research resulting in conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
