Bio:

Maleeha Fatima is a second-year PhD student whose primary research focuses on the modern history of the Deccan region, approached through global history frameworks. Her work engages material history methods and seeks to expand the idea of the “archive” by examining objects and materials as critical sources beyond conventional documentary records.

Her research explores the history of the Deccan through the perspectives of women and other non-elite groups, aiming to uncover and theorize the departures from conventional historiography that emerge from these alternative vantage points.

With Public History as one of her fields, she is also training in museology and is committed to making her research accessible through creative and public-facing forms of dissemination.
