John R. Teasdel is a senior technical engineer at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, where he serves as the enterprise firewall technology owner and subject matter expert. Teasdel has 19 years of experience in enterprise Network Engineering where he has led teams through the complex demands of today’s evolving technology landscape.

Recognized for his dependability and results-driven approach, Teasdel blends proactive leadership with creativity and precision in execution. His background spans the power utility, internet service provider, and health insurance sectors, where he has played key roles in highly visible, next-generation technology implementation projects.

Teasdel’s deep technical acumen allows him to solve complex challenges, deliver on critical initiatives, and communicate solutions clearly to stakeholders. These experiences have also strengthened his leadership skills, enabling him to drive team performance and exceed expectations.

Beyond his professional career, Teasdel is passionate about giving back. He volunteers with local schools and community events to promote STEM education and career awareness. At his local church, he serves as a minister, leads the IT and AV team, teaches Sunday School, and mentor to young men.

Teasdel is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina’s College of Engineering, where he was also a student-athlete and an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers. Today, he continues his involvement through the NSBE Alumni chapter. He resides in Irmo, South Carolina, with his wife and two daughters.
