Why I chose the South Carolina Honors College

I prefer smaller, interactive environments, but I also value the plethora of resources available at a flagship university. The South Carolina Honors College truly is the best of both worlds. I am so grateful to have the close-knit Honors community within a large university with endless opportunities.

My advice for prospective students: Find a balance between "yes" and "no." You will stumble across so many opportunities at USC. Challenge yourself to say yes to opportunites that will help you grow, even when they feel intimidating. There truly are SO many opportunties, so also learn when to say no. Taking time to yourself to rest, study and have fun is just as important!

Something new I’d like to learn: I think it would be really cool to learn American Sign Language.

Favorite question during an information session: What are Honors College students like?

Anything and everything! In Honors, you will meet students from across the country with unique interests and goals. Everyone is so different, yet we're all motivated and ambitious! It's an empowering community to be a part of.
